I am slowly working on building my work wardrobe (hoping I get a job soon). I am loving this gingham dress it is flattering and so comfortable. It is a little low on sizes so I have linked a few similar options I think yall would enjoy. What is your go to workwear staple that you think every woman should own? A great sheath dress is definitely one of my top 10.
What I’m Wearing:
This is a perfect spring office look, or going to church. I love finding great classy/modest dresses that are work appropriate and still stylish and fun. This dress fits like a dream (I don’t even feel the need to wear a slimmer) and the material feels so soft. I am wearing a size 16 for sizing reference. This fun bright print just makes me want to dive head first into spring and not look back. Spring also means getting to break out my bright lip colors, this is one of my personal favorite and feels so smooth on the lips.

I have been wearing this pink hoodie non-stop (literally it’s probably getting embarrassing) but it is soo soft and comfy I just don’t even care. I had high hopes and expectations when I saw this tennis skirt, and it meet every one of them. It is the perfect length, comes with built in matching shorts, and so flattering. I am not always supper excited to head over to the gym but cute clothes like this do help encourage me. What encourages you to go to the gym?
I feel it is a common misconception that workwear means black and boring, and that is not the case at all. I personally only own 3 black pieces: jeans, a bag, and shoes. I do however own a lot of navy, that is my personal go to neutral. I am a very colorful person so today I want to show you how to incorporate color into your work wardrobe. My outfit is a color, blush, but it is not too overpowering and like BAM in your face, it is subtle and feminine. Here are my tips on how to incorporate color into your workwear.
- A “pop” of color- start with baby steps just ad a pop of color to your look, try a fun top or a great statement blazer. If you want to go a little more crazy you can pop your outfit with a fab shoe. Or if you are very new to the idea of color try just a pink lip with your normal workwear.
- Patter – patters are a great way to add visual interest to your outfit and also color. You can wear a patterned top or if you are feeling it a great (must fit well) patterned dress. To done down a pattern you can always throw on a cardigan or blazer.
- Jewelry- Jewelry is a supper fun way to add some color to a work appropriate outfit.
- Fabric choice- One of my favorite fabrics to add color into a work outfit is tweed. Tweed is a very sophisticated and classic way to add color and visual interest into a look. A great fitting tweed dress is a workwear staple in my closet.
