I am so excited to be writing this post. I asked y’all on Sunday if you would be interested in following me on a lifestyle journey to improve my overall health and happiness. The overwhelming response was YES. This is the first post in a series I am starting called my “Food & Fitness Diary,” which is exactly what this weekly (every Thursday) post will be. Every week I will update you with the good and bad things I accomplished in the past week, and note my moments of weakness. I also plan on journaling some of what I eat in a day, along with daily exercise.
I want to make it very clear that I am not following a diet. I simply want to improve my lifestyle habits. In return, I do hope to lose some weight. However, to be completely honest, I am only hoping to loose 30-40 lbs. I love my curves. I also am hoping to achieve this goal over a long period of time, hence the lifestyle journey. I have done fad diets and lost weight quickly, but then I gain it all back. This is going to be a learning experience, and I am sure I will make mistakes, plenty of them.
I had countless of you ladies message me on Sunday saying how excited you were to follow my journey for inspiration. I encourage you to comment on these posts weekly, or continue to message me with any of your accomplishments, no mater how small or big.
Food & Fitness Plan
My plan when it comes to my eating habits is to simply substitute some of my junk food favorites with healthier alternatives. I love to drink sodas, Matt and I are both guilty of that. So one of the first actions I want to take is to try to cut high calorie sodas out of my diet and instead drink flavored sparking water, along with good old regular water. I also plan to find better snacking options for in the afternoon at the office. Finally I plan to eat more fruits and especially vegetables.
As for my fitness plan, it is fairly simple. I plan to walk around the neighborhood with Matt a few nights a week. This is great because it gets us both out of the house, and allows us to meet our new neighbors.
