Sometimes you just can’t beat the classics. Today I want to share what I think makes an items classic, and also my favorite classic items I know you will all love. I consider classic to be something that is timeless that my mom could have worn. And also something that I could still wear in 20 years. A great example of a classic items is a great trench coat. If I am going to splurge or invest in a high ticket item, it is usually going to be a classic. So I can get as much enjoyment out of it as possible. One of my favorite splurge items that is definitely a classic would be my Chanel flats. First off I got them used, see my post about buying used Chanel flats here, so that made that not as much of a big investment. I went with the classic nude and black cap toe, this is one of the original styles and is always being sold, which makes it a great classic.
Modern Take On A Classic
Sometimes it is fun to take a classic item, like a trench coat, but have a little fun with it. For instance a feminine ruffle sleeve? I instantly fell in love with this trench coat when I saw it online. I had been in search of a new one for almost a year, but was holding out for something that had something a little special. The ruffle adds a feminine touch to what can be a more masculine piece. The length is also perfect for if you are wearing a dress, that can be hard to find sometimes. I did go up a size I am usually an 18 but I went with a 2o so I could wear seaters and bulkier items underneath.
